Canada Cup ATV Amateur National Championship – 10 Rounds!

CMRC ATV is proud to announce that the 2010 Canada Cup ATV Amateur National will be held over 5 weekends – 10 races and will take place at tracks in Ontario and Quebec. Be crowned Canada’s best ATV racer in your class and have your name engraved on the Canada Cup for future generations to see.

What’s unique about this series is that all classes, not just the pros, are racing for the title as Canada’s top rider in their class, and there’s a class for every kind of rider and type of bike. With 7 Mini classes together with 14 Youth/Adult classes and 2 UTV classes, this series has it all.

The first 2 rounds will be on June 19th and 20th in Ste. Veronique, Quebec, and will be hosted by CMRC Competition. Due to their format of racing in Quebec, combining 2 & 4 wheel racing on the same day, only the Pro riders will be racing the Canada Cup at each of the Quebec events. For the rounds taking place in Ontario all 23 classes will be racing for the Cup!

The next 2 rounds of the Canada Cup ATV ANC will be in Parry Sound on July 3rd & 4th at the Ontario Camp of the Deaf. This track has been voted Track of the Year by CMRC ATV members for two years in a row. The OCD track is the most ATV friendly track there is, hosting the most exciting ATV racing there is in Canada. With some fantastic uphill jumps, off camber turns and some very tricky downhill doubles, it’s knocked even the most expert rider off their quad.

If you’re planning to attend this race then you’ll have to prepare your quad to meet the noise level requirements. Most of you are aware that the OCD Camp hosts motorized sport events to help fund the real purpose of the camp. Giving hearing impaired children and adults as well as other challenged children and adults the opportunity to experience a camp environment and explore activities that they would not normally be able to do, like water skiing, canoeing or learn to ride an ATV. The OCD would like all riders to know that the 94dBa at 3 meters at 3000rpm benchmark is going to be enforced. If the quad doesn’t meet those standards then the rider won’t be able to race. So now is a good time to service your exhaust system or take it to your local dealer or mechanic and have your muffler properly repacked.

Also taking place that weekend is Quad Fest 2010, a 3 day event beginning July 2nd with the classic Mud Bog. If you’re not scared to get a little dirty then this will certainly be the ‘FUN’ you’ve been craving for. And for those who don’t like to get dirty, watching this event is just as entertaining. Competitors won’t just be competing for bragging rights. Naturally the winner of the mud bog will receive a trophy and a special prize, but there will also be prizes available to participants as well. Ladies, if you’re up to dashing across a mud trench with your quad and don’t mind getting really dirty then you’ll enjoy the sport of mud bogging.

Since we’re talking about the OCD in Parry Sound on October 2, 2010 there will be a Quad Cross through the trails. Starting in the morning this timed event with take you into the bush and woods along fire roads and through fields and no one knows if Mother Nature will throw in a little water to go along with that. There will be two classes competing for prizes and trophies – Quad Cross Amateur and Quad Cross Advanced.

Quad Fest 2010 has something for everyone. Whether you’re a serious racer or just enjoy the thrill of competing in an ATV race or perhaps relish in the feeling of being completely emerged in mud or if you simply just like to watch these competitions, then come out and attend. Camping will be available on the evening of July 1, 2010, or you can choose to stay at the many hotels or resorts in the Parry Sound area. Come out for the entire 4 day event or arrive the night before your event. Information regarding entry fees to each event will be on the web-site shortly.

The weekend of July 17th & 18th will find the 2010 Canada Cup ATV Amateur National making its way to Walton Raceway. This is the home of the Walton TransCan Grand National Championship, the largest outdoor motocross event in Canada where 2 wheel riders from around the world go to fight for the Canadian Motocross Championship title. ATV riders from Ontario and Quebec will be going head to head to position themselves in the top 3 of their class before the final two weekends. There will most certainly be some exciting racing especially amongst the intermediate and pro classes, but keep in mind that this track is designed for 2 wheel motocross and it will take a really focused rider to come out on top at this track. Spectators will enjoy watching the ATV’s and the UTV’s hit the natural double and fly over the step down landing with precision and then head off into the turns at this track.

The 2010 Canada Cup ATV ANC will continue rounds 7 and 8 back in Quebec on August 21st & 22nd at X-Town. CMRC Competition will be your host and only the Pro riders will be racing. The final rounds will once again be in Parry Sound at the Camp of the Deaf on August 28th & 29th. All classes will be racing for their final chance at becoming the best ATV racer in Canada in their class. Photo opportunities with the #1 Plate and the Canada Cup will certainly go a long way to obtaining future sponsorship for the racers in 2011.

On a side note, Quad racing has grown into a national sport throughout Canada and the US, and the most inspiring racers to watch are the Mini racers. The youngest racer at last year’s Canada Cup was only 4 years old. Nathan Luttrell #3 races in the Mini ATV Tykes and started racing when he was just 3 years old together with his brother Jacob. As you watch him and the other mini rider’s race you not only see their determination and enjoyment in the sport you’re able to see how they think. If you’re a parent of a mini rider then you’ll understand what I’m saying. A parent can feel their child’s excitement, accomplishment and even the disappointments. And as the mini racer develops his riding style, learns his technique to master the quad and then begins to strategize, you can also see the parents taking great pleasure in the sport of ATV racing.

Whether you’re racing the 2010 Canada Cup ATV Amateur National or participating in your first provincial race series I’m sure you’ll agree there’s a lot to be said about ATV racing.
